A Fish Ate My Cat

Synopsis:

Sarita, an elderly woman living with dementia, inhabits a world where memory and imagination continually overlap. When her estranged son returns after years apart, she does not recognise him, but welcomes him into a landscape of music, dance and fragmented stories. As they move through her memories, buried histories begin to surface. Sarita revisits the courage of choosing love across religious divides, while her son struggles to articulate his own truth and his love for another man. Combining live piano, original music, dance and song, A Fish Ate My Cat explores dementia, caregiving, identity and family, while reflecting on the ways love and belonging can endure beyond memory.
