Aada Aada Lakhav Hai

Synopsis:

In a village in Haryana, three women set out to do something they have been expressly forbidden from doing: attend a Ragni performance by Renu Chaudhary, a singer known for her bold lyrics and commanding presence. Payal, determined to see her favourite singer before she is married off, persuades her friend Rani and her tai, Kamlesh, to join her. Their journey unfolds through small negotiations, near-misses and encounters with authority, as well as with the ostracised single men of the village, the Randas. Woven through folk songs and local traditions, the play examines the boundaries placed on the lives of the women and their claim to public space, pleasure and freedom.
