Maayaa Dweepa

Based on William Shakespeare`s last play, The Tempest, the drama Maayaa Dweepa (The Mystery of the Magical Island). Using Kannada translations of The Tempest, a new stage script has been created, incorporating some special expansions in the scene designs to adapt it for stage presentation.

The Tempest is a Shakespearean play where the sorcerer Prospero, living on a magical island with his daughter Miranda, creates a tempest to shipwreck his enemies, including his treacherous brother Antonio and the King of Naples, Alonso. Through magic and servitude to the spirit Ariel, Prospero manipulates events to orchestrate Ferdinand and Miranda`s love, expose his brother`s betrayal, and ultimately regain his dukedom, achieving a resolution of forgiveness and freedom.
