About This Event
This drama, titled “Sankraman” , primarily presents testimony from a father, son, and mother. Through their three perspectives unfolds the daily struggle between father and son. The father asserts the importance of his own struggles, sacrifices, and life experiences—always addressing his wife, the listener. To him, the truth of his life is meaningful. But the son keeps questioning his father’s point of view, simply because he has not lived the struggles, sacrifices, and experiences his father has endured. Caught in the conflict between these two, the mother can’t take a firm stand on either side. Yet, as time passes, the father`s behavior subtly becomes a “contagion”—spreading from every father to his son. This play interrogates the so-called "generation gap" and "ideological differences." The son who once criticized his father`s nagging behavior eventually finds himself in the same position when he becomes a father.
