ABOUT THE FEATURED POETS -  Dr. Gowher Yusuf

Dr. Gowher Yusuf is a practising paediatrician, life-skills coach, and NLP practitioner, a physician who writes poetry drawn directly from a career spent alongside patients, families, and the quieter forms of suffering medicine doesn't always have language for. Her writing journey began over twenty years ago with newspaper articles before turning to poetry. Her first

collection, Silver Lining, was published in 2000 by Poets International, India, later re-edited and reissued as Broken Pieces (2014, Educreation Publishing House). She is also the author of Al Jumuah: The Day of Congregation (2010, International Islamic Publishing House, Saudi Arabia). Unspoken Words is her second poetry collection; she is currently at work on her third. It is this dual identity physician and poet that distinguishes her voice: the clinical

patience to sit with pain, paired with the poet's instinct to name it plainly.
