Who is Democracy Really For?

P. Sivakami, a former IAS officer and social activist, will deliver a lecture titled 'Who is Democracy Really For?' at The Bangalore Local in Koramangala. The event will explore the gap between political representation and actual participation in governance, with examples from Sivakami's work addressing child labour, employment, and land rights. The lecture will also discuss women's participation and the impact of local knowledge on government priorities.
